The standard exhaust on the F430 is one of the loudest systems (alongside the exhaust on the 360 Challenge Stradale) that Ferrari have ever fitted to one of their road cars. Many owners and enthusiasts agree that the volume is sufficient and that it is a significant improvement over the beautiful sounding but overly quiet Ferraris of the 1990s. However, the same owners have universally complained that as Ferrari increased the volume, their V8 engine sound has lost it's sonorous "quality" - it's lost that magical high-pitched howl! The 355, in particular, served as the benchmark for this type of sound, delivering a spine-tingling high-pitched howl as the revs escalated. This is all but lost on the F430's V8.

In addition to this "missing quality", the F430's exhaust has suffered from many problems related to vibration and the mounting system, resulting in recalls to prevent, among other issues, exhaust tips breaking off and silencer support brackets cracking.

In response to the continued demand from owners to make their F430s sound "nicer" and the need for a design solution to end the reliability issues relating to the original exhaust, Tubi have radically redesigned their F430 sport exhaust from the ground up.

Enter the new Evolution system for the Ferrari F430.

The single-muffler layout has been abandoned in favour of two separate mufflers to individually silence each bank of the V8. The entire system is mounted on a Tubi-made mounting system which attaches to the gearbox casing. Sturdy brackets with rubber mountings are used to suspend each silencer to dampen natural vibrations and the movements of the engine, thereby finally ending the countless end-tip problems associated with Ferrari's original exhaust. The silencers themselves are small and lightly baffled to maintain the F430's original volume level. They are also positioned longitudinally behind the rear bumper.

Perhaps even more importantly, the Evolution's configuration was initially inspired for aural reasons, and brings the F430's exhaust tone much closer to that of the legendary Tubi-equipped Ferrari 355s and 360s. It must be noted that Tubi have managed to do this in spite of the F430's absence of a 5-valve-per-cylinder layout, its enlarged engine capacity and enlarged catalytic converters.

The new Tubi's sound is linear (if the non-valve operated system is specified), crisper, and is a radical departure from the sound produced by any single-muffler layout by any manufacturer. It's sweeter, sharper and most crucially, has that slightly higher "pitch", finally getting F430 owners closer to that howling scream, with shades of "Tubi-360" as they open the throttle.

It's a beautiful technical solution that could only be achieved by Tubi Style. As per previous editions of the F430 Tubi, customers may specify the Propella Race, Propella, Classic, or Race end-tips (see our main F430 Tubi exhaust product page for photos of each of the tips). A new modification to the F430 Tubi exhaust catalogue is the addition of titanium exhaust tips with a "scorched titanium" finish (pictured at left).

Note that the pictures at left are of pre-production prototype systems - production systems will be serial-numbered and finished to a higher standard.
